Aanimals er en samling af små forestillinger inspireret af dyr, der lever i Aarhus. Værket sætter dyr, en marginaliseret gruppe af væsner i vores samfund, i fokus på scenen gennem performative fortolkninger af lokale kunstnere med forskellige baggrunde. Aanimals er en ode til mangfoldighed, en ode til at lytte, en ode til både det kendte og det ukendte, det vilde og det tamme. Aanimals performances kan opleves på ARoS Kunstmuseum på niveau 1 på forskellige tidspunkter mellem 26.8.-1.9.
Udover performances vises Aanimals også i en filmproduktion på niveau 3 på ARoS Kunstmuseum mellem 26.8.-9.9. Filmen er blevet til i samarbejde mellem Riikka Lakea og et hold af lokale kunstnere og dyr.
Filmen og performances er produceret af Riikka Lakea, ARoS og Teatret Svalegangen for United Change og filmen med hjælp fra Aarhus Filmværksted og Rylan. Aanimals tager afsæt i verdensmål nr. 10: Ulighed

Det er veldokumenteret, at indkomstuligheden er stigende. De rigeste 10 procent tjener op til 40 procent af den samlede globale indkomst. I udviklingslandene er uligheden vokset med 11 procent, hvis vi tager hensyn til befolkningstilvæksten. Ulighed er et globalt problem, som kræver globale løsninger. Det indebærer en forbedring af regulering og overvågning af de finansielle markeder og institutioner, samt større udviklingsbistand og udenlandske investeringer til de regioner, hvor behovet er størst. Støtte til mere sikker migration og mobilitet for mennesker vil også være vigtigt for at mindske den stigende ulighedskløft.

Artists will dance marginalized voices from Aarhus forward in the debate
Aanimals is a collection of small performances inspired by other-than-human animals, taking place in the everyday and urban spaces of Aarhus. The piece puts animals, a marginalized group of critters in our society, on center stage through the performative interpretations of local artists from different backgrounds. Aanimals is an ode to diversity, an ode to listening, an ode to both the familiar and the unknown, the wild and the tame.
Besides performances, Aanimals are also featured in a film production at level 3 at ARoS Art Museum between 26.8.-9.9. The film has been created in collaboration between Riikka Lakea and a team of local artists and animals.
The film, performances and events are produced by Riikka Lakea, Aros and Teatret Svalegangen for United Change and the film with help from Aarhus Filmværksted and Rylan. The piece is based on Goal 10: Reduced Inequalities.’
ABOUT GOAL 10
It is well documented that income inequality is increasing. The richest 10 percent earn up to 40 percent of total global income. In developing countries, inequality has grown by 11 percent if we take population growth into account. Inequality is a global problem that requires global solutions. This entails an improvement in the regulation and monitoring of the financial markets and institutions, as well as greater development assistance and foreign investment to the regions where the need is greatest. Support for safer migration and mobility of people will also be important to reduce the widening inequality gap.
