Publikum bliver lukket ind i en dykkerklokke for at opleve havets skønhed
Hvordan lyder det, når et økosystem forandres? OCEAN er en skulpturel lydinstallation over havets lyde, som ligner en gammeldags dykkerklokke. Inde i klokken er der plads til, at en lille gruppe ad gangen kan lade sig omslutte af mørket og alle havets lyde – de gode, de onde og de grusomme!
OCEAN tilbyder et refleksionsrum, hvor lyden af hvalsang, stimer af sild og rullende dønninger blander sig med skibsskruer, undervandsboringer og undersøiske vulkanudbrud - alt sammen mikset i et dramaturgisk lydunivers af Merlyn Silva. Ambitionen med værket er at udfordre vores forestillinger om havet og dets skønhed. De fleste har nok hørt at verdenshavene er truet, men hvad betyder det egentlig og hvordan lyder det? Værket er skabt af Teater Fluks som under United Change fortolker Verdensmål 14: Livet i havet.

Verdenshavene - deres temperatur, kemi, strøm og liv – driver de globale systemer, som gør Jorden beboelig for mennesker. Håndteringen af denne livsvigtige ressource er afgørende for menneskeheden som helhed, men også for afbødningen af klimaforandringernes konsekvenser. Over tre milliarder menneskers levebrød er afhængig af biodiversiteten i hav- og kystområder. Verdensmålene for bæredygtig udvikling skaber en ramme for bæredygtig forvaltning og beskyttelse af havene og kystnære økosystemer i forhold til landbaseret forurening og adresserer påvirkningerne af havforsuring.

Audience let inside a diving bell to experience the beauty of the sea
What does a changing ecosystem sound like? OCEAN is a sculptural sound installation looking like an old-fashioned diving bell which allows the audience to explore the sounds of the sea. Inside the bell there is room for a small group of people who becomes enveloped by the darkness and all the sounds of the sea – the good, the bad and the cruel!
OCEAN offers a space of reflection where the sound of whale song, shoals of herring and rolling swells combined with ship propellers, underwater drilling, and underwater volcanic eruptions is all mixed in a dramaturgical sound universe by Merlyn Silva. The ambition of the work is to challenge our notions of the sea and its beauty. Most people have probably heard that the world's oceans are threatened, but what does that actually mean and how does it sound? The work was created by Teater Fluks, which during United Change interprets World Goal 14: Life in the ocean.
GLOBAL GOAL 14
The world's oceans—their temperature, chemistry, currents, and life—drive the global systems that make Earth habitable for humans. The management of this vital resource is crucial for humanity as a whole, but also for mitigating the consequences of climate change. The livelihoods of over three billion people depend on the biodiversity in marine and coastal areas. The Global Goals for Sustainable Development create a framework for the sustainable management and protection of the oceans and coastal ecosystems in relation to land-based pollution and address the impacts of ocean acidification.
